Providing food services at primary schools is a challenge. As well as meeting food standards regulations and Government guidelines on nutrition, Sodexo has to offer food that children enjoy.
Thanks to our focus on healthy eating, our commitment to quality cooking practices and our knowledge of marketing, we excel on all counts.
In primary schools we have two food offers that are specifically designed to encourage children to eat healthily. They are Club Joules and Just Joules.
Healthier lifestyle
Club Joules uses lively food-based characters to market the importance of a nutritionally balanced diet. It includes a wide range of dishes popular with children, with many prepared onsite using fresh ingredients.
Our menus include plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and our cooking practices have been developed to reduce salt, sugar and saturated fat content.
To complement the Club Joules offer, we publish newsletters and have a dedicated website, using the food-based characters to help educate children about the importance of good nutrition and an active lifestyle.
Flexible and nutritionally balanced
Just Joules is based on a similar concept to Club Joules but is designed for schools with limited kitchen and staffing facilities onsite. Just Joules has been developed to make lunchtime fun and attractive to children, while educating them to choose a healthy balanced meal.
